Mophie App: A Hand Held Technology to Compare Credit Card Merchant Accounts

This could become less of a problem considering a neat gadget that Mophie plans to unveil during the Consumer Electronics Show in 2010. This credit card processing app allows consumers with iPhones to use their hand-held technology to compare credit card merchant accounts.

Information about how the app works hasen't been released yet, but it's very exciting to think that business owners will be able to accept credit cards no matter where they are, as long as they have a cell phone signal. Imagine this: you are a graphic designer who goes to a client's office for a consultation. The client wants to do business with you, but wishes to pay with a corporate card. You are forced to either write down the information and manually key it into your system or wait until the client comes into your office. With the new Mophie app, all you would need to do is hook up the app, accept the credit card on the spot, and be on your way.

Believe it or not, the Mophie app isn't the only iPhone credit card processing app out there. Innerfence allows users to manually key in a customer's credit card information and track the payment and send receipts via e-mail. There are, of course, security concerns, but the creators state that using the iPhone app is a lot safer than the old method of taking a manual imprint of a card.
